Recently, I’ve been trying many different ICS ROMs and honestly without my 4G working, I find it hard to use my phone to tether, which is one of the coolest features about my Evo 3D.

Anyways, I did go back to Android Gingerbread and found a really good/simple ROM that gives me great 3G/4G signals, performance, and battery life.

MikG ROM 3.0 for Rooted HTC Evo 4G!

Still looking for a good ROM on HTC Evo 4G? Well, here we go back at it with MikG ROM, this time with the updated version 3.0.

The MikG ROM has always been very good for us HTC Evo 4G users (my all-time favorite) and with version 3.0 you get lots of goodies including MikTweaks app, which I find it handy in turning my battery bar to show percentage and also my signal bar to show dB levels.

As far as everything else, MikG is smoother/faster than ever, highly recommended ROM for those of you who need everything working.

Jaredthegreat ICS ROM for Rooted HTC Evo 4G!

This is the Android ROM marathon week, another great ICS ROM to try for the HTC Evo 4G is the ICS ROM by user Jaredthegreat at XDA. This ROM is a very good ROM that can give you full ICS experience along with slight overclocking (if you use SetCPU).

This ICS ROM is one of the smoother ICS ROMs I’ve tried and although 4G/camera isn’t working yet, it’s otherwise a great ICS ROM. If you must have ICS now, definitely give this Jaredthegreat ICS ROM a go and let me know how this ROM goes for you.

Alpha4 ICS ROM for Rooted HTC Evo 3D!

For those of you early-adapters who need to try every ICS ROM for your HTC Evo 3D, here’s another great ICS ROM you can try, the Alpha4 ICS ROM, which is very similar to the ICS Deck e3D ROM I reviewed last week.

How to Install ROM from Fastboot on HBOOT 1.50 Rooted HTC Evo 3D!

ICS ROM for Rooted HTC Evo 3D! [ICS Deck e3D]

For those of you who can’t wait for the official ICS update on your HTC Evo 3D, you might just want to give the ICS Deck e3D ROM a try, a fully-working ICS ROM (without camera/4G) built from Android 4.0.3 sources.

Although you lose 4G and camera functions on your Evo 3D, this ROM is otherwise flawless, smooth, and overclockable to 1.8Ghz.

How to Install TWRP Recovery on Rooted HTC Evo 3D!

Also for HTC Evo 3D users, you can get TWRP Recovery by flashing the recovery image from fastboot.

Download TWRP Recovery Here: Download TWRP Recovery There’s two methods, one is for those rooted on Revolutionary method and the other with HBOOT 1.50.

If you are on revolutionary method, you only need to flash this once.

Just type this when in fastboot mode:

fastboot flash recovery twrp-shooter-2.0.0RC0.img

App of the Week – Police Scanner App

There was an accident couple months back just down the road from where I live. I searched on Twitter and local news but could not figure out what happened until the week after when I found out a 15-year boy died in a car accident. Well, here’s an app that can help you get the news quicker by listening to police radios, Police Scanner App.

I think this is a great way to stay on top of local roads, hazards, and whatnot, especially in a emergency situation like an earthquake, which happens so often here in SF Bay Area.

You never know so try the app!
