App of the Week – Police Scanner App

police-scanner-app

There was an accident couple months back just down the road from where I live. I searched on Twitter and local news but could not figure out what happened until the week after when I found out a 15-year boy died in a car accident. Well, here’s an app that can help you get the news quicker by listening to police radios, Police Scanner App.

I think this is a great way to stay on top of local roads, hazards, and whatnot, especially in a emergency situation like an earthquake, which happens so often here in SF Bay Area.

You never know so try the app!

App Of The Week – Go Keyboard!

go-keyboard

My favorite new keyboard app? Check out the free Go Keyboard app available on the Market, it lets you do a lot of customizations including changing sound/vibration of your keyboard plus a ton of free themes to use.

When you use GO Keyboard, you can change the vibration and sound settings. Set sound to “Samsung” and vibration levels to as low as you can get without losing vibration. This is pretty much what the Galaxy S2 keyboard is like and now you can use it too.

Also, another great feature about the GO Keyboard app is that it supports multiple language. I, f

golauncherex-review

For appoholics out there who use at least 20 apps, here’s a launcher app you absolutely must try and use, the Go Launcher EX!

That’s one of the features I like plus you can install cool custom widgets that allow you to see how much RAM your phone is using in real-time plus close apps at the touch of your fingertips.

The best part? The app is absolutely free and I love this app. For appoholics out there who need to better manage their slew of apps on th

App of the Week – SPB Shell 3D Launcher!

spb-shell-3d-review-1

For this week, I’ve got the review of the SPB Shell 3D launcher, which replaces your HTC launcher with full 3D effect.  I know Sense 3.0 and 3.5 already has a 3D-like launcher but the SPB Shell 3D launcher improves on the 3D effects.

This isn’t a free application and in fact costs $14.95 on the Market.  It’s sorta expensive but if you are looking for the best 3D launcher out there to impress your friends, this is the best as it’s going to get.

App of the Week – Customize Your Evo Lockscreen with WidgetLocker Lockscreen App!

widgetlocker-13

Still using a lockscreen that doesn’t let you quickly get into apps with one swipe?  Well, I know most Sense 3.0+ ROMs can do some of it but I find with the WidgetLocker Lockscreen app, you can make your Evo much more efficient (and your life too).

Perhaps you are using this app already (if so, great) but if you are not, you are missing out on additional 3 seconds you can save everytime you use your phone.

Here’s a video walk-through on how to customize your Evo lockscreen to make your life better:

How to Stream HULU on your HTC Evo 4G!

hulu-htcevo4g

About 9 months back, you were able to stream HULU on your HTC Evo 4G simply by changing your browser’s UA String to “Desktop”. Well, that hack has been blocked off by Adobe Flash Player but guess what, we now have a hacked Flash Player that can let you stream HULU again on your HTC Evo 4G!

To do this, you need to have Flash Player 10.3 installed on your HTC Evo 4G, un-install it, then install the modified Flash Player 10.3.

And when you reboot, you will lose the ability to play on HULU so you simply need to un-install and install the modified
