Alpha4 ICS ROM for Rooted HTC Evo 3D!

For those of you early-adapters who need to try every ICS ROM for your HTC Evo 3D, here’s another great ICS ROM you can try, the Alpha4 ICS ROM, which is very similar to the ICS Deck e3D ROM I reviewed last week.

After trying out these two ICS ROMs, I have to say the HTC Evo 3D is a very good candidate for ICS.  And when official ICS ROMs are available with 4G WiMax working fully, it’s going to be a lot of fun, your Evo 3D should become like a new phone again like the day you got it.

Anyways, give this Alpha4 ICS ROM a try and let me know which one you like more, this or the ICS Deck e3D.

I seriously hate this guy’s voice and fingers. Wtf.

How long does the boot take? I just flashed after wiping data etc, and it’s been on the white HTC image for almost 10 minutes now i’m getting very worried

  3. Tarek says:

Definitely prefer the ICS Deck e3D ROM. Alpha4 seems like it has some problems/issues:
    – Red border around the entire screen on some screen presses; not sure if this is intentional, but it’s distracting and annoying
    – Browser render problems; not just the stock browser, but even Dolphin HD looks screwy
    – Gmail render problems
    – Notification bar alerts smear

Some pros that ICS Deck e3D doesn’t have:
    – more settings/options that allow you to set homescreen, app drawer preferences (couldn’t find them in ICS Deck e3D, but I guess those options could be buried somewhere)
    – segmented wifi icon

    • Mike says:

the red boarder is on a screen refresh and can be turned off in the settings (quick controls maybe? cannot quite remember where)

Took me a while to get this ROM working, literally weeks, I finally got it after i burned my boot and recovery partition with version 2.0 of TWRP. I’d been using 1.x version and it kept freezing at the colorful startup screen.

I downloaded TWRP 2.0 at the link below and followed the directions

FYI, I’m using hboot 1.5 with S-ON unlocked via HTC method.

Hey I flashed this rom and I can’t download anything and it wasn’t pre loaded with the Android market. Anyone else have this issue?

    • e420 says:

You need to flash gapps (Google apps). also this ROM is outdated as there is a newer version out. follow @kushdeck on twitter so you can be kept updated with the latest builds. if you don’t have or use twitter then you can download his latest ICS rom with gapps baked right in with the rom so you don’t have to download&flash both rom and gapps separately! this is the link to his latest rom–> good luck!

Yeah, I’m having that problem too. I can’t even download market from the Android website, the only thing I can think of is flashing a zip for market but i don’t even know if that would work.

  6. andrew says:
