How to Backup/Restore ROMs on HTC Evo 3D!

For those of you new to the HTC Evo 3D, once you’ve rooted your Evo 3D, you will want to backup your newly rooted ROM if you are thinking about doing things like adding a new overclocked kernel or install new ROMs.

Why?

You want to create a restore point, sorta like Windows 7 system restoration feature, so you always can go back to a ROM that’s working stable. ¬†Also, this is a great way to have 4 or 5 ROMs on your phone and switch ROMs on the go.

It’s pretty is to do, just go into ClockworkMod Recovery by taking your battery out then holding down Volume Down and Power button or you can also get into it using the free ROM Manager app.

Once in ClockworkMod Recovery, you can use the backup and restore feature to backup and restore your ROMs. This will backup all your apps, contacts, settings, the ROM, and the kernel.

    Max,
    Thanks for your great videos!
Where can I download the original stock Sprint ROM for HTC EVO 3d? I’ve looked on many sites but can’t seem to get it. I wanted it just for safety reasons. My phone had the original ROM before the OTA notification came out last week. (No, i did NOT use the OTA on the rooted phone).
    Thanks,….Marc

I managed to backup and flash ICS ROM. Now I can’t restore my phone!? I highlight the backup file and then reset the phone but the phone gets stuck on the white HTC screen. The white HTC screen turns on and off. What did I do wrong? can I fix this?

  9. Jason says:

When attempting to use Nandroid Restore I get “oops… something went wrong!” error message. As far as I can tell everything is there when I reboot except my widgets. I used Tatanium to back those up, but it still won’t restore them. Any suggestions?
