This is off topic, but I figured you would probably have an idea. I have read on XDA forms that the HTC Evo 4 G LTE has problems connecting to WI FI. I have a Motorola POS that my phone will connect to every once in while. I usually can not ever get it to connect. Do you have any suggestion?

Thanks for your time and work

  2. Eric says:

Hey Max where can I find SetCPU?

  3. Justin says:

Hello, I just installed this ROM. I like it but I can’t get calls to go out. Just says dialing then says call lost. I’ve never come across this and i’m out of idea. You know what the problem may be?

    • Kevlar3D says:

      Justin:
remove the +1 from the front of your phone book entry, some roms dont like it. (123) 456-7890 instead of +1 123-456-7890

  4. Remixed says:

I installed Meanbean and have had issues non stop. I can not make phone calls without it saying dialing and nobody can hear me and I can hear nobody and it seems like it is stuck or froze. It was good at first but I also was late for work because somehow my alarm clock changes automatically to silent. So I could not hear my phone ringing. It barely makes sound and is very unusual. I don’t know what it is but it’s screwing with me. Making me hate the evo and its lack of 4g in my area more.

If you guys are looking for a very good sense based rom,try out ragelte over on xda…battery life is insanly incredible

  6. John says:

Hey Max, I rooted my LTE (tampered and unlocked, S-On). I also installed this MeanBean ROM and have TWRP. I was wondering if you could make a video on how to get S-OFF? I’ve read forums on XDA, but I found DirtyRacun to be too complicated. Please help, I’m thinking that I need to update the radios and I know´╗┐ it’s a long process with my phone being s-on. Thanks in advance

    • Dennis says:

I achieved S-OFF using this method last night. Took about 5 minutes.

    • Putertech says:

John I thought it was complicated as well but managed to make it happen after talking to the guys on the DR IRC, very helpful group…..my issues was typical, i read wayyyyyyyyyyy into it.

      • John says:

@Putertech, I got all the way up to installing Ubuntu as my OS but for some reason I couldn’t connect to my wifi internet so I just gave up completely. I have read that a lot of people were able to accomplish this using windows which noone has put out there. I know Zedomax could probably figure it out using another method.

  7. JJ1981 says:

Hey max,ive been following you since the first evo,now I have the htc one for sprint…do u have a site dedicated that device???hope so you made this noob a all time great

  8. Zac says:

This is by far the best ROM for this phone. I have tried every rom under the sun on this phone and everything from battery life to stability has sucked on almost everything else. I keep running back to this rom. The signal is great and stuff doesn’t randomly open or close on me like everything else. This ROM just has it all. The only things it could use is a few extra customisable settings and it would be perfect. Now when it comes to android I am a purist and I hated sense till i got this. Amazing work. Wish I had the money to donate to this developer.

  9. mike says:

when flashing this rom with twrp mod, my phone gets stuck at the blue loading bar and rom doesnt complete installing , i have let the phone set for over an hour twice, rom never finish , help please

    • puffnkillerbudz says:

i would say that the ROM file that you downloaded is bad/corrupted. try re-downloading it again and try re-installing.

    • Ice says:

I might be a lil late but I had the same issue, then realized that my older version of twrp was the problem…I upgraded to twrp v2.5.0.0 (via Goo Manager) and was able to flash this ROM w/no problem.

I will say that I am unable to get the wifi tether to work w/this ROM…I’ve tried EVERYTHING (saw recommendations everywhere), but no luck. Nice ROM, but the wifi tether is important so I won’t be keeping this ROM if I can’t get that working.

Also unable to sync phone to my PC (via HTC Sync Manager) too.

  10. puffnkillerbudz says:

I would not say that this is the best ROM out there as others have announced and i have found some problems with it as well. every custom ROM is going to have an issue or too. one of the issues i am having with this ROM is as simple as getting my Google contact list to load up. the settings tell me that it is all synced but i have zero contacts in my list. the second issue is the update app that came with the ROM does not want to run. it simply closes and when you open it back up it just stays blank. this same problem is happening with the play store app as well. another person already asked this question, and i admit i have not looked that hard, but i can’t seem to see the CPU-settings either.

overall i would say this is a better version that we get with stock with a few extras. it is very responsive and signal quality is fantastic. maybe my issues are not the results of the masses, however, its this was my experience with this particular ROM.

  11. mike says:

I have flash the sticky setting but I don’t have an incon to control them can someone help I think I did something wrong

  12. Ken says:

Great ROM! I followed the installation instructions at XDA and all is really good. If it wasn’t for this rom I would not know anything about my base firmware and how that should match the rom that I install. Anyway this may be my daily driver for a long time, cuz everything just works better.

  13. JJ says:

I went from mean rom to this. I was waiting for a while on an update. I installed this rom a few different ways. For some reason I cant do a clean install of the rom. I have to install mean rom do a factory reset then install mean bean. I have also installed it over mean rom which worked and I lost no contacts or app data. Though this route super slowed my phone down. I installed all my apps and changed my settings to my desired preferences. After installing Set CPU, I noticed the cpu kernel was at 1.5ghz not the 1.7ghz it was at in mean rom and the posted 1.8 for mean bean. Is there a fix for this. I still have the old kernels saved on my computer from mean rom.

  14. JJ says:

Never mind I figured it out through the video Thanks

  15. luis says:

hello someone can help me file throws error checking design ml5
and then design ml5 file not found Error
I have the latest version of the recovery

  16. Sergio Chavez says:

MeanBean is the only rom I can install on my evo 4g Lte. I have tried all the other roms on your page, but none of them are working. I don’t think it is the roms. i think it is my phone. I also notice that s-mode is on shouldn’t it be off. Could that be the problem? Any advice you have would be great

    thank you

    • david says:

I just tried out the others and I am coming back to mean bean now (That is what I put on my phone when I got it in January) it is simply more stable than beanstalk (which did look nice, but is still chalk full a bugs..) and cm 10 is great but really brings nothing to the table that would make me give up “sense” as far as s-on s-off.. I do know that you have a bit more freedom if you can go s-off.. but i did not see anywhere where the roms are not compatable with s-on.. there are often extra, and/or other steps involved when flashing to an s-on device. your best bet is to go to the developers forums for a more complete walkthrough with s-on…… (but IMHO, you are missing nothing, mean bean is now a little older and not cutting edge, but far more solid, and its the only one bringing the goodness that is HTC Sense!) If you do get other roms going though, the one thing that you will miss is your camera.. Even BeanStalk bringing a much newer android, left me looking for camera options that would rival our stock cam, (which mean bean brings) I’m no tech,, just a guy who plays too much with his phone, the best place to get a tech to help is on the developer forums.. they are always helpful if you are willing to be polite and kiss a little butt.. gl!

When useing this and trying to put it on my phone this pops up —> please insert the last disk of the multi volume set… What can I do to stop this?

  18. Roman says:

Will I need to install Google Apps after and if so what version?

  19. Roman says:

OK, so I now have MeanBean running with no major issues but one. My service provider is Sprint. I live in an area where service is rather weak to say the least. Sprint has provided me with an AIRAVE to boost my phone signal and well as boost the data signal (which I just recently found out). The issue is that when I’m home and within range of the AIRAVE my mobile data will not connect. When I shut the AIRAVE down my mobile data turns on but because the AIRAVE in not on I have limited service. I can still can go WIFI at home and have my data and have great phone service while the AIRAVE is on.

Has anyone else experienced this and if so are there any remedies?

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

This thread just saved my phone. I new to root and modding phones and wanted to play a little so I downloaded a Rom and wiped everything. Everything….. Installed then had errors and couldn’t boot past twrp recovery. Then came across this thread gave it a shot and thought it was stuck in bootloop but about 3 minutes later everything was fixed and work. This is the easiest Rom install even for noobs. Just install the zip from recovery it will do the rest. Thanks for making this mod and fixing my HTC EVO 4g LTE .
