CyanogenMod 7 ROM for HTC Evo 4G!

CyanogenMod 7 ROM has come a long ways for the Evo 4G, and it’s one of the best ROMs for your HTC Evo 4G.

Who is this ROM for?

CM7 ROM is for those of you who prefer the original “vanilla” UI of Android, this ROM comes with no “Sense”.

Here’s a quick overview of the CyanogenMod 7 ROM:

Things I like about the CM7 ROM for Evo 4G?

I like the fact that the CM7 ROM comes with overclocking settings and you can safely overclock it to around 1.1Ghz, a tad faster over stock 1Ghz.

Here’s an overview of the CM7 ROM overclocking settings:

Also, the CM7 ROM is stripped of Sprint/HTC bloatware. Some people like the bloatware and some don’t. This ROM is for those who don’t (obviously).

how did you get the option to over clock to 1.2 ghz? i downloaded cm7 and it only gives me the option to overclock to 1.1 ghz

I love this rom too! It seems that all the Sense roms have issue with brightness controls. This one doesn’t have any problems at all. The only thing I don’t like but it’s a minor issue is the music player. No genre tab & my mixtapes have songs scattered around everywhere.

wait, that’s what u like about it? what about the fact that you get almost double the on-hand open ram than stock? what about how much faster it is? what about the 75 megs more of internal storage, AND automatic built in apps2sd? what about the customization? the hacks that allow you to change almost anything? what about the theme engine? what about the community and open source? what about being able to theme easily (if you’re more advanced)?

oh, and built in overclock settings.

this is my second go ’round with the CM7 rom. when i first rooted my evo back in february i went straight to the CM7 rom. it worked fine for a while but then my phone would shut down from time to time. it was more annoying than anything else. i then came across the mikfroyo rom and never had an issue. mik then came out with the mikg rom and was pleased until i noticed the weaker signal. i switched back to froyo and waited for new builds hoping to fix the problem. along comes CM7 and decided to give it another try. looked great, loved the fact that the overall performance increased…..but it crashed on me again. actually a few times withing a 20 minute period. i’m not back on mikfroyo and hope to some changes and improvements soon. or it could be my phone sucks!

    hey zedomax

Thanks for the many helpful videos on rooting and flashing Roms. I installed cyanogenmod 7 three days ago. I love it, it is very fast and it works very well with hdmi mirroring. The only downside to this rom is the gps does not work. The GPS light comes on but it does not connect. sprint Navigation and google NAV are not working due to the gps connection problem. i hate to ask you to help me personally with this issue because it seems that your are pretty busy with all your sites, but if you have the time a video would be appreciated.
