Looking for ICS ROM for your Evo 4G? Well, here’s the closest thing to the real ICS ROM. It’s actually a CM7.1 modded with ICS launcher and other goodies from Ice Cream Sandwich. It’s not 100% ICS but you can enjoy some of the ICS experience and best of all, everything works including 3G/4G/wifi and more.
Of course, in couple months when Android ICS source code is released officially, there should be a “slew” of ICS ROMs so don’t worry, it’s gonna come and when it comes, it will be BIG!

hey i just installed this rom on my evo 4g and i cant actually get my phone to boot up. it gets to the android screen with the spinning bubbles and just keeps restarting….any ideas?
im having the same problem. how long does it take to boot up past the boot screen with the bubbles??

That happened to me as well until I did a complete wipe, including the Dalvic cache before installing. After that it installed nicely and has been smooth sailing since then.
How exactly do I get off the bubble screen in order to do that? Sorry, I’m new.
Did you check the 3 boxes to wipe the device, your old ROM is still there causing a conflict, backup the old ROM 1st though….good luck : ))
You have to take the battery out, and enter the bootloader screen again, (power+ volume up)
clockwork mod sucks, go with AMON RA. WIPE EVERYTHING BEFORE FLASHing OR IT WILL GO IN BOOTLOOP.
Great ROM. Flashed it a couple of days ago, flashed the tiamat kernel as well. So far better battery life with it instead of the stock cm7 kernel. Everything works, only downside is the camera interface. Other than that definitely digging the blue theme!!!!! Sticking with AOSP ROMS for now since they don’t have the htc loggers apk on them. lol f+ing government!!!!!! can anyone say socialism?!
Socialism is an economic model in which workers own and control the means of production and manufacturing. You would be better served with “Can anyone say Police State?” or “Can anyone say Totalitarian government?”
Is this a mod for CM7 or a full ROM?
It spins for a while longer than usual startup, then it works it’s cool!
I was able to get this ROM to load and work, but keep getting repeated crashes with the following:
Google Services Framework (com.google.process.gapps)
Email (com.android.email)
Calendar (com.android.providers.calendar)
Also, there are no native calendar or mail widgets in the ROM. Widgets in general are a bit light in this ROM.
I get the same problem. i can use the email app already installed, but not the gmail app. no calander will work though. I also get the com.google.process.gapps error..
I couldn’t believe how fast the install completed. Almost as fast as a re-boot. For a second I thought it didn’t work, then the blue bubbles appeared…viola! @David: looking at how fast it installed, I believe it’s a mod. Also, because once re-booted, it still had the same wallpaper that I had for the previous ROM. @Stew: true statements about widgets. I liked the CyanogenMod7 better than this ROM though.
I take that back…ICS is much cooler when I took a second look…
Is there any way to change the 5 column home screen to 4? I don’t see the option anywhere.
I just got a new HTC EVO from the insurance company and for my sorprise it came with the new update instaled preventing me to root and put back all the stuff like hot spot

Just Google HTC Evo 4g RUU. It doesn’t rely matter what version as long as its not the newest one. Use RUU and then don’t update. Use Unrevoked and root. continue to enjoy your evo 4g!
love this rom!!!so far 0 probs 0 lock-ups and it flys!!!!
I like the ROM. The interface is nice. It’s odd that there wasn’t a native dialer included, but I found a good one in the market so it’s good now. Actually, a lot of functionality that I took for granted with Sense doesn’t come as default so I had to go find them in the Market. Overall, I like the way it works but 2 concerns: the battery life stinks (but I just underclocked it so I’m hoping that takes care of that problem) and it randomly reboots. I haven’t been able to determine the cause of that yet. Has anyone else had the rebooting issue?
Does this ROM need a separate install for Gtalk and Google apps, since it’s based on CM7?

installed this and cannot get 4g or wifi to work… any ideas?
I couldn’t make calls with this ROM. There wasn’t a phone icon to initate calls and the Google Call back failed to launch. Both stating that the app could not be found. All in all I was able to receive calls. For clarification I could not call a new number(one that was not already in my contact list).

I’m trying to put a custom boot animation on the ics rom. I found thebboot animation with the bubbles and I replaced it. However there is a secound boot animation I can not find. Any suggestions anyone?
Will this be available for the EVO 3D? or will it work on the EVO 3D?

THIS IS THE BEST ROM YET BUT IT DRAINS THE BATTERY I HAVE TO CHARGE MY PHONE ABOUT THREE TIMES PER DAY
Every response seems half assed. Really why wouldnt someone say it just does not work right. Also seems like the same lack of effort in producing the right Rom. Why not make a compiler like the good old days of win blows ver 5.0 and every one can cook there own roms. Lots of time and effort for minor tweeking
hi i instal this room and i like t but the only ting bad the i have is mi battery is dead in 9 hours an di have extended battery if any one have solucion pls let me knoow.

I rooted my phone from 2.3.3 Gingerbread yesterday and all was fine. Today I tried to install the ICS ICSmod7_v1.0zip and all my phone does after it rebooted is show the circle with the 2 floating bubbles and big circle around that and the android guy in lower left. It said it installed fine but when i did the reboot option thats all its ever done since then. I let it sit like that for 40 minutes and thats all it doi was have the bouncing bubbles I cant power off the phone . Finaly I pulled battery after 55 minutes let sit for 60 seconds re installed Battery and held v-down and Power get into boot loader. Did the whole install again and same thing. So I tried to go back to the su-2.3.6.3-efgh-signed.zip and it says installed and i rebooted got the same dang circle thing please help me.
Ok I got it to work just panicked a little is all. rebooted the phone in boot loader cleared all cache and did a wipe of all user data reran the ICM file and it worked in like 8 minutes all is good on the evo front here. I love my Evo 4G even more now than before. Only thing is it is for sure a battery hog now. Still havent figured out how to flash a kernel yet. want to try the Trinity Kernel.

This ROM didn’t work for me. The boot up was fine, but you couldn’t make a call. Second, I set the alarm and was not able to turn it off. I did a full wipe and reinstalled ROM again. Still no change. I will have to try again later, or wait for another ICS ROM.
Is anybody able to get the Wi-Fi tether to work? This is the only thing that does not work with this ROM? Am I the only pperson having this problem? Can it be fixed?

Search for android 2.3.7 wifi tether. You have to clear one of the caches and install a file. Works perfectly now.
Okay so I downloaded and installed this rom. So far I am completely unable to use the phone as a phone. Everything besides notifications work since there is no notification bar and being able to call people.. I have no dialer or contact book. I can download one but when I try to receive calls there’s no why to answer them… Weird huh? I can send SMS messages but as soon as I receive one the phone crashes and when an application trows a notification it crashes. I am assuming because no notification bar. I haven’t had the chance to run the this rom in a debugger or investigate further. But before I begin this work I was just wondering if this was possibly an install failure or just a design failure.
Rom works very nice! I did install the another kernel , getting 1500+ on quadrant. Solid and stable!

Been running this ROM for almost 5 days now and love it…. Only complaint I have is the phone gets “twitchy” when on charge but its nothing major
GREAT ROM, But, GPS Flakey? It works, but Navigation programs stick and barely work. Updates where u are when driving like every minute if it works at all. Anyone same issues??? Anyone know how to fix?
I need help. I’ve just rooted my phone about a week ago so i’m pretty new, but i have learned a lot and have been trying some ROMs. The biggest reason i rooted my phone was so i could do a wifi hotspot tether with my phone and not pay $30 a month. I can get the wifi tether app to work fine on all the sense based apps, but on all the CM7 apps i can’t get the app to work right. I can connect to the network on my computer but can’t access the internet. I don’t know whats wrong and why i can’t get it to work on any of the CM7 ROMs. Anyone have any ideas? I really want to use a CM7 because i like them much better than Sense, but i also need the wifi tether to work.

I loaded this ROM, looks great but EVO 4G battery goes hardly 5-6 hours with no animation and other settings. Same settings with other Roms goes all day. Any idea????

wow i am new to the rom switching but this thanksgiving i have switched about 6 different roms and i have to say sofar this is my favorite BUT its not ready yet or as far as i can tell ..
it has super speed which i love and the transition animations are great but for some reason once im up and running it will re boot in to the bubble screen and when it comes back my home button nor my search button dont work and the rom lock screen goes away not sure who to tell this to but i really like this rom and feel it has great potential if these bugs get fixed Thanx
Is anyone having issues with wifi reception? The rom seems to be working well but I cannot seem to connect to any wifi networks. I even tried the phone from a foot a way from my router. It would find the router but never connect.

Has anyone ever resolved the GPS issue with this ROM?
The GPS issue is a Cygn 7 issue with some HTC models – google GM7.1 GPS fix and you will find what you need….. (basically flash back to stock, do a few actions, then flash back)
Flashed worked fine but how do you make the folders darker? When you make one (games for example) and open the folder on a screen it is to transparent and makes a double layer on the screen that is very hard to read.
I need help please. I flashed my HTC evogingerbread to this new mod 7v1android ver. 2.3.7kernel ver. 2.6.37.6 cyanogenmod running icecream sandwich. I can’t get my VM from sprint! Is there no support on this rom for VM?! Now I’m thinking of going back to gingerbread…how do I restore to my original setup gingerbread 2.3.3? I know I backed it up before I flashed it to ics rom. Can someone tell me if there is a fix for VM? If not how do I restore to original gingerbread and will this effect my wifi tether?
Search for visual voicemail cyanogen. You install an app and run titanium backup to restore. Sprints visual vm is proprietary. so it can’t be included in the cyan mod unless they want to risk being sued.
you could always download and use the OTA rom from this web site if you want to go back to sprint ROM. You will still keep your root.
I’m loving this ROM, I’ve tried every ROM under the sun and this is the most functional one for me. I paired it with Beautiful Widgets app from the market to really spice it up, and it’s amazing. One thing though, my battery live is awful with this ROM. Only ROM that I’ve ever experience battery life problems with. I’ve turned off everything and I’ve made sure task manager has killed all applications not in use. I turned off GPS and I don’t have wi-fi, wimax, or bluetooth on. Also using auto-brightness. Any ideas?
I been using this Rom some time now and I figured out that if your using a auto task killer, that task killer distorts the OS, and would drain my battery profusely. In essence I been using the autokiller memory optimizor and it works, my battery last 60-70% more. I did some research for this task killer and its said its special for rooted phones, give it a try.
So i decided to try out this rom and after 4 hours of playing with it, I found this rom to be very user friendly. Finally a rom that does not suck up internal memory. Only a few things I found odd.
1) Everytime the music app is activated, I keep getting foreclosed
2)Has anyone figured out how to set your music as your ringtone?? I was able to on Mikg roms but not this one
3)For a while i was a bit irritated that my laptop was unable to recognize my phone, but if you turn off “USB Debugging” it will give you the option to allow the phone to act as a storage device. Maybe that will help some folks out there pulling their hairs out.
So let me know if anyone has found a solution to the music app foreclosing everytime.

I need some help though! I currently have the CM7 ICS ROM on my rooted HTC Evo 4g. I had downloaded a free wifi tether app and it was working smoothly. At some point it stopped working, and for some reason now none of my other can establish a connection to the EVO device. The devices get stuck at “obtinaing IP address” and never connects. If I check my phone in Settings->Wireless & Networks->Wi-Fi Settings->Advanced, my IP address is shown as “Unavailable” as well as the MAC address shown as “Unavailable”. Can someone help me fix this?

I had the same problem. Its not the ROM I believe its the app. I tried the OTA ROM and still had that problem. I tried another app and teather worked. I believe networks are starting to crack down on the free wi fi. but thats just my opinion

ive been using this Rom for some time now but i cant seem to get my GPS to lock faster, i was previously using the Sprint Lovers Rom and i updated my PRL and firmware before installing this rom and my GPS gets lost almost 80% of the time. thats the only problem i have with this rom, can anyone please help.
I installed this ROM on my phone yesterday. I haven’t had many problems with this rom at all but all of a sudden the 5 slots I had on my screen for icons went to 4 slots. My virtural buttons are gone as well. Is there a way to get it back to the way it was? I liked it much better then.
Great room but I have two problems, Wifi theter does not work I Have 3.1 Beta11 works smooth on Blue Gene. HDMI stil freeze my htc said cable undetected. anyone have idea about two small problems. Thanks
