Also for HTC Evo 3D users, you can get TWRP Recovery by flashing the recovery image from fastboot.
Download TWRP Recovery Here: Download TWRP Recovery There’s two methods, one is for those rooted on Revolutionary method and the other with HBOOT 1.50.
If you are on revolutionary method, you only need to flash this once.
Just type this when in fastboot mode:
fastboot flash recovery twrp-shooter-2.0.0RC0.img
For those of you on HBOOT 1.50,

For those of you who want to install custom boot animations (I’ve been getting asked a lot), you can easily do it by copying over your desired custom bootanimation.zip file to the /system/media directory using ES File Explorer app.
You can download free boot animations here at AndroidBootAnimation.com.
Most custom kernels/ROMs will support this (such as CM7.1) while some will not. You will of course need your Evo 4G or Evo 3D rooted with a custom ROM a custom ROM that supports it. (You can
Are you on a stock Evo 4G ROM or any Sense-based ROMs like MikG? Well, now you can get HDMI mirroring on your Sense-based ROM, simply flash the HDMwIn kernel below in ClockworkMod Recovery and you should be good to go.

I know some of you enjoy stock ROMs and OTA updates and for those of you who do, here’s a rooted OTA 4.53.651.1 ROM you can install on your Evo 4G without losing root (and free wifi tether).
Note – Make sure to backup your apps and SMS Text(if you need to) using Titanium backup before hand as it will erase everything!

For some reason, if you need to unroot your HTC Evo 3D back to stock, here’s how to do it if you used Revolutionary root method (won’t work if you are on HBOOT 1.50 and rooted with HTC Method!). Also, Sprint isn’t so tough about returning rooted phones, last week I returned my Evo 3D with root(HTC Method) and ROM because I kept getting error 16, got an exchange no questions asked!
Step 1. Download PC86IMG.zip file here then copy over to the root folder of your Evo 3D’s SD ca
*Note – This method of rooting currently doesn’t allow you to flash new kernels (so no overclocking) but you can flash new ROMs. If you haven’t done OTA update to HBOOT 1.50, please follow the method outlined here instead.
This new rooting method from HTC works on software version 2.08.651.2 and later using HTC’s unlock method. You can also do it on all platforms including Windows, Linux, and Mac.
Before we begin, check the software number on your phone by going to
For those of you who are on Viper ROM (for Evo 3D), did you know that there’s a “hidden” OC daemon inside the ROM?
OC daemon, as the name states, is a overclocking daemon, that you can use to control minimum and maximum clock(CPU) speed. SetCPU app can do that too but the OC daemon goes one step further and let you control the clock speed when your phone is in sleep mode.
By setting your clock speed to be much lower in sleep mode, you can save additional battery power during course of a day if you tend to not use your phone often.
