CyanogenMod 7 ROM for HTC Evo 4G!

CyanogenMod 7 ROM has come a long ways for the Evo 4G, and it’s one of the best ROMs for your HTC Evo 4G.

Who is this ROM for?

CM7 ROM is for those of you who prefer the original “vanilla” UI of Android, this ROM comes with no “Sense”.

Here’s a quick overview of the CyanogenMod 7 ROM:

Things I like about the CM7 ROM for Evo 4G?

I like the fact that the CM7 ROM comes with overclocking settings and you can safely overclock it to around 1.1Ghz, a tad faster over stock 1Ghz.

Here’s an overview of the C

How to Install New ROM on HTC Evo 4G!

Most of you probably know how to install a new ROM on the HTC Evo 4G but for those of you new to Evo 4G or simply forgot, I made a video real quick as a reference:

Note: Make sure you root your Evo 4G first!

For installing the ROM I used in the video:

Evo Deck ROM for HTC Evo 4G! [Best Gingerbread ROM]

If there was an award given for the best Gingerbread ROM right now, I would give it to the latest version of Evo Deck ROM, which is based off CM7 but does better with HDMI mirroring and flawless overclocking.  (I am having problems with stock CM7 overclocking and no HDMI mirroring.)

I did review Evo Deck ROM couple weeks back, I believe the brightness settings weren’t working but it works fine now and highly recommend it until there’s a better ROM that comes along the way.

Here’s a quick overview of Evo Deck ROM (again):

Evo 3D ROM for HTC Evo 4G!

If you want to preview what’s coming up with the new HTC Evo 3D, you can get this Evo 3D ROM for the HTC Evo 4G.  It’s actually a great ROM, everything works except the camera/camcorder is un-usable at this point.  I suspect that is due to the difference between the Evo 3D and the Evo 4G as the Evo 3D has three cameras plus 3D feature.

But the developer of this Evo 3D ROM is working hard on it so I am sure that will be fixed in the near future.

I don’t really recommend you to install this ROM at this point unless you don’t mind not bei

Sinister Gingerbread ROM for HTC Evo 4G!

We’ve got a slew of great Gingerbread ROMs for you to try out this whole month, today we will be reviewing the Sinister Gingerbread ROM for the HTC Evo 4G.

This is a ROM based off the Evo Shift ROM, an evil, twin brother of the Speedy Shift ROM with minimal bloatware.

For Linpack, I got consistent 36-37 MFLOPS and for Quadrant I got 991, which are fairly okay numbers but I suspect they will get better as soon as overclocked kernels are available for Evo 4G Gingerbread ROMs (I am counting down everyday).

Anyways, I took a short video of the Sinister ROM, it

MikG ROM v.1.4 for HTC Evo 4G!

MikG ROM was just updated to v.1.4, it’s slightly faster than v.1.3, for those of you early adapters who want the best of the latest, you can download the ROM below and see quick video review I made.

Linpack: 36-37MFLOPS Quadrant: 998

For those of you who want overclocking, you will definitely have to wait until HTC releases the Gingerbread kernel, which shouldn’t be too far away. If overclocking is a must, just stay on Froyo ROM until overclocking becomes available for Gingerbread ROMs.

Speedy Shift ROM for HTC Evo 4G!

Speedy Shift ROM is a “port” from the HTC Evo Shift to the Evo 4G, it’s quite nice with everything working out of the box. Now, there’s so many great ROMs to choose from, it’s driving me nuts but I will have an overview of all the “best” Gingerbread ROMs for the Evo 4G once I get through all of them.

So far, this one, MikG, and Ti-X are my favorites but who knows, there’s more ROMs to try.

This Speedy Shift ROM also comes with a hacked Sprint Hotspot app, meaning you can get free Hotspot without paying Sprint twice fo

Missed Me 2.3 Gingerbread ROM for HTC Evo 4G!

Here’s Missed Me 2.3 Gingerbread ROM for HTC Evo 4G, made by Steven, a 14-year old, who might be the youngest ROM maker ever.  Anyways, this is a pretty good ROM, very similar to Evo Zone and Fresh Evo, based off the leaked 2.3.3.
