Just having a heard time getting this phone rooted

  2. I’m kinda new to the whole root thing. I’m scared to just jump right in without understanding a lot. There’s so many reasons why I must root my Sprint evo. If any way possible, can I get an easy step by step guide to this? Any help is strongly appreciated.

  3. Brian says:

Haven’t found a good method to root 2.3 OTA EVO phone yet.

Seems like the files contain an older image.

  4. mike r says:

does it give you free hotspot?

  5. Kenne says:

Hey guys. no the Sprint HotSpot is not included but u can use wifi tether from market and it will do the same thing. Thank you for the video. I’ll be pushing this over to my co founder of Ti-X. I’m making a senseless rom. right now will have a tweaked launcher pro but that will be out later. I’m going to be slowing down a lot as I’m getting ready to get out of the military and go back to college for another bachelors but I will keep this updated at least with 1 good release a month or if little fixes show up I will be doing that.
    Again thanks for the video.

Does this ROM work on the EVO SHIFT, by any chance?

  9. Themoviejoc says:

Unrevoked3 is the best and easiest way to root the evo 4g. Watch instructions on web.

  10. Anthony says:

    zip verification failed!
    zip isnt signed correctly!
    installation aborted.

  11. HTC Evo 4G Hacks says:

    Toggle verification off!

  12. Trey says:

I toggled verification off as well and it still give that same error.. Any ideas? I’ve tried both the deodex and odexed version at least a few times a piece. I really want this ROM for the Google talk feature.

  13. Trey says:

This is the Error I keep gettin when i attempt to install Ti –

    –Installing : SDCARD: Ti –
    Finding update package…
    Opening update package…
    E:Can’t open /sdcard/ Ti –
    Installation aborted.

Not sure what this means.. Any help will be appreciated! 🙂

  14. Morgan says:

Which software number is currently on your phone? Try reinstalling the original RUU file. Then you should be able to root and install the ROM.

  15. Nick says:

I’m using this rom and it works great. Yesterday I got prompted to run a system update. Is there any risk if I click “install”?

    Please let me know,

  16. Hubie says:

I downloaded the file and unzipped the file on my pc…now, how do I install on my evo? Thanks

  17. Nick says:

So, I haven’t had any real problems with this ROM. It’s a decent ROM for sure. My only complaint is that HDMI doesn’t work and I’m not able to do the “make your internet 20-30 times faster” that is described in this article:

Otherwise it’s close to the ROM the phone comes with and works well.

  18. Kenne (DC13) says:

Nick go to and in the evo area i have updated the rom. should fix a few issues. this is a older rom that isnt supported any more down know why my posts about this keep getting deleted.

    • Nick says:

      Hey Kenne,

Thanks for responding to this. I’ve searched sdx-developers and couldn’t find the updated ROM. Could you give a link? Maybe Max/ htcevohacks could review the new ROM. Thanks man.
