For those of you on HBOOT 1.50 and rooted your HTC Evo 3D using HTC Unlock method, you can either install new ROMs from fastboot or use Flash Image GUI app.
Well, there’s even a better way, using HTC DumLock app, which allows you to flash your recovery to boot without use of fastboot. This is probably the best way to flash kernels/ROMs on your rooted HTC Evo 3D with HBOOT 1.50.
Step 1. Download the following two files and copy over to the root folder of your SD Card.

Step 2. Reboot into recovery and install the file install-htcdumlock-v2.zip. This will install the HTCDumLock app. (You can do this again if you install a new ROM and you lose it.)
(In TWRP, choose “Install” and for other recoveries, “Choose from SD Card”)
Step 3. Once installed, reboot and you will find an app called “HTC DumLock” in your app drawer.
Step 4. Anytime you want to install a new kernel/ROM, just run this app and press “Execute HTC Dumlock”.
Step 5. Your phone should reboot automatically but if it doesn’t, just restart your phone manually.
Step 6. When you reboot (reboot normally, don’t use bootloader to recovery method), you will reboot into your recovery as shown below.
Step 7. Install “restore-original-boot-v2.zip” in Recovery. This will restore your normal boot image so when you reboot, it will boot normally, not into Recovery.
Step 8. Once that’s done, you can flash kernel/ROMs in Recovery or even restore ROMs. That should install new kernels/ROMs without hassel.
If you have any trouble, you can watch my tutorial video at the beginning of post where I install DumLock and install a new ROM.

i only get boot loops
here’s the fix for that:
1- remove your battery, put it back in
2- hold volume down and power (get into bootloader)
3- use volume keys to select factory reset IN BOOTLOADER !!!! this will remove all of your apps and settings!!!!
now your phone should boot in recovery, flash your rom.
so i have a question i used htc unlock to unlock the bootloader and im on hboot 1.5 i read before that i couldnt flash over clocking kernels … can i use this to flash them now?

This is awesome, i was able to flash the Anthrax Kernel over my Rom without problem. Thank you dude, you’re awesome, and also the developers of the HTC dumlock (Y) love ya all, im so happy.
I need help with my evo 3d. I install twp recovery and install a rom on my phone. Now, i phone wont give a charge and wont power on anymore. I believe It’s the rom but dont know for sure. Can you please help me out?
I’m not familiar with that power issue but as with any electronic device, try pulling the battery out. If it starts powering on, you get to bootloader and then recovery by holding down volume button and powering on.
Flashed the restore-orgiginal-boot file but still booting into recovery!! Ahhh!! How do I get back to normal boot now!!??
NVM!! I fixed. Just reflashed rom and it booted back up normally.
Did follow directions but once HTC Dumlock is selected phone does not reboot, did a normal reboot but then phone just reboot like normal
I recently flashed the rcmix kernal and ended up in a boot loop …help!!

My phone didn’t reboot automatically after i’ve installed dumlock so i rebooted it normally. when it rebooted, it was in recovery. I installed restore original boot but when i rebooted, i still boot in recovery. Is there a way to get out of here?
try reinstalling the original boot again.
Am having the same problem… av tried doing a system restore but am still ending up on 4ext recovery. HELP
I did all the steps that you said to do and everything works, but when the system start it stills says: unfortunately the process com.htc.bg has stopped and my wifi and 4g don’t work
You might need to flash the correct kernel for your ROM.
