Thanks for all the great work and assistance Zedo! I come to you now with an issue I’m not sure exactly how to resolve. I was recently using SynergyROM/ziggy kernel and decided to try ViperROM and add the RC1 kernel for the best battery life with added speed. I rooted my phone using the 1.5 HTC method following your steps which worked great. I even flashed twrp recovery and am following that method for flashing. I just finished flashing ViperROM and the RC1 kernel and modding my CPU speed and am all of a sudden having force close issues and permission granting issues from su. Any ideas on a solution?

When I do this I get this:
    C:\Evo3DTwrp>fastboot boot twrp-shooter-2.0.0RC0.img
    downloading ‘boot.img’…
    FAILED (remote: not allowed)
    finished. total time: -0.000s
If I try it again this happens:
    C:\Evo3DTwrp>fastboot boot twrp-shooter-2.0.0RC0.img
    downloading ‘boot.img’…
    but nothing happens, any ideas?

After flashing MIUI on 3d I am not able to get fastboot to see my usb to twrp another rom. Any suggestions….

RE. TWRP 2.0 This recovery is bad news. Unlike CWM or AmonRA recoverys if you don’t wipe cache and delvic cache in between nand backup installs it combinds both roms and corrupts everything. There is also a problem running TWRP inconjuction with the Anthrax kernel.

As what you see on the video, the screen when blank using twrp, i experience that sometimes “while” installing rom (or restoring rom), its like after a period of time it turns off, which you cant really turn the screen on even if you hit power button or any other keys, the only solution is take offf the battery and redo all the process again…
i read about some thread that they have same prob as mine!
twrp should fix this on evo 3d hboot.1.5 … for now im sticking with cwm4.0.1.4, which i see no problem for evo3d hboot 1.5

hey max, finally got the evo 3d, did the smart way and bought it off of ebay. unfortunately it came with hboot 1.50 and software 2.3.4, 2.17. anyways, I still was able to unlock it following your steps and just installed twrp through fast boot. I have a question, which is probably stupid one, since I’m so use to the OG EVO which I still have as back up………..when flashing a rom on twrp, do you have to use cmd prompt to force it into fast boot everytime? and I also noticed that you didn’t wipe cache/dalvick which on the evo 4g is a must.

  11. Brayden says:
