If you want to experience some Android 4.3 goodness on your HTC Evo 4G LTE along with many UI customizations and features, definitely check out the latest version of BeanStalk ROM.

Built on Android 4.3 CM10.2 base, BeanStalk brings you the latest Android 4.3 that will definitely “wow” you with super-fluidity and great performance out of the box that you will actually be able to “feel”.

Of course, BeanStalk is a highly-modified CM10.2 with its own AOKP ROM Control-like settings to fully customize your UI/shortcuts and also does ship with more goodies like PIE Controls (with 2 layer shortcuts), latest HALO floating notifications, Xposed App Settings, and much more.

The only bug I found was with the Focal camera as sometimes it force closes on me but it does also ship with stock camera that works 100% fine.  I’ve even replaced it with Android 4.3 PhotoSphere camera APK, which enabled PhotoSphere.

Also, I was able to get flash player working just fine with the stock browser by simply installing Flash Player APK file.

Overall, BeanStalk ROM is still considered “beta” but I find it very refined and ready for the real world.  If you are looking for a good Android 4.3 custom ROM to try out, definitely check out BeanStalk ROM first, I think you will like it as much as I did.

Download BeanStalk ROM

Download Android 4.3 Gapps (You must use 4.3 Gapps only, 4.2 apps will not work!)

To install, reboot into recovery, make a backup ROM, wipe data/factory reset, install ROM, install Gapps, and reboot.

If you do not install Gapps, the keyboard will force close so PLEASE INSTALL gapps!!!

Download Android 4.3 PhotoSphere APK (To install, install Titanium Backup app and uninstall existing Gallyer app first!)

Download Flash Player APK

If I install this ROM in my HTC Evo 4G (Not LTE) will it work?

  2. Kyle Gregory says:

Very doubtful sorry, I got that phone too, its old school though.. the LTE is awesome

  3. Thad B says:

I have an HTC EVO LTE 4G Software V 3.1… Tried several times to install this but I can never get past the HTC screen it just keeps rebooting. My phone is properly rooted after following your instructions to the letter. I tried restoring my phone and I was able to restore it but each time I try to install this rom is fails. I have done several cache wipes as well (Factory Reset, Davilk…etc)

  4. Roman G. says:

Does this ROM enable free Hot Spot?

  5. Bono says:

    Same Here Thad B.

I flashed this Rom to my HTC Evo 4G LTE, and I’m stack on Boot Logo. -_-

  6. Cav says:

Thad B. & Bono, I think you guys are going from a Sense ROM to this AOKP ROM. If that’s the case you have to replace 1 file on your phone to get it to boot up. If you google “flash boot.img” it’ll show you how to copy the boot.img to your phone so that it can boot up correctly.

    • MikeH says:

Thanks Cav, your comment helped! I was stuck on the boot logo just as Bono until I flashed the boot.img and everything works fine! There are really a ton of things for customization!!
One question, why do you need to uninstall the Gallery app before installing the photosphere?

  7. Herbert Wilson says:

I have an HTC EVO 4G LTE. I have come across a odd problem. When I flash a rom to the phone, the touch screen does not work. The only rom that I have been able to get to work is “Viper 4G”. Any ideas?

  8. Bono says:

I’m okay now, booted successfully, but I’m stuck now in Welcome(choosing Language)..

  9. Bono says:

Guys Help me please.. I really like this Rom. 🙁

    • Coffeetero says:

1st, thanks to you for having taking the time to write up this how-to and to everyone else who bothers to post their glitches as without them this would have taken me a lot! longer.

So everything went smoothly, hit all the gotchas other people experienced luckily others had gone before me.
      There were two particular issues that took me a while to figure out and had not seen anybody else experience;
      1. The Camera, Gallery and Apollo were giving me an error regarding No Memory card
      2. USB Connectivity to the computer was not working

I had tried the Clear Cache, Reset to Factory and none of those worked, then I noticed the sdcard directory was not accessible from the BeanStalk File Manager so I reformated it and voila! everything suddenly worked

I Just upgraded to the EVO LTE from a Galaxy S2 for Sprint and brought it over to Ting and this phone now rocks!!

    • Coffeetero says:

All I can say, resetting to factory helped resolve some issues. The weird part is that I had to Factory Reset twice before it worked.

  10. Coffeetero says:

I also went from Stock Rom to this BeanStalk.
After you flashed boot.img did you re-installed BeanStalk and gapps?

  11. Squandroid says:

Has anyone had problems running games on this ROM? I have noticed that several games such as temple run 2, stupid zombies etc.. will force close as soon as the game begins.

  12. Thad says:

Why the heck was my post with the links about how and what s-off is removed? I posted so other people could benefit. I found it very helpful! Sheesh!

  13. Berto says:

Installed the ROM very smoothly, runs great. But, I have no mobile connection. As in, I can’t send texts, or receive calls. Flashed from stock, cleared dalvik, system, factory. Any advice?

    • simou says:

I dad same probleme .and what i did i flashed hercules jb radio+flashing rom+gapps

      • Berto says:

That helped, thanks! But another thing I’ve been having issues with is that the battery drains wicked fast during idle. And the device gets warm during idle as well. Anyone else having this issue?

  14. G F says:

I don’t know if I installed it wrong, but I can’t find how to turn on the notification bubble anywhere.

  15. Alex says:

How do you run the sprint profile update from Beanstalk? I wanted to also update my prl

  16. Elliott Velosky says:

Is anyone having problem with rear speaker….after flashing beanstalk the speaker seems very distorted ( like its blown)…. But flashed recovery to stock sense and it works like it should…re-flash beanstalk and having the same issue…almost like it overly loud…really want to get this fixed its the ROM I have tried!

  17. luis says:

hello someone can help me file throws error checking design ml5
and then design ml5 file not found Error
I have the latest version of the recovery

  18. Adam says:

Can I install this like I do CM?

Launch into TWRP, Factory Reset Cache/Dalvik Cache/System Wipe, install rom + gapps?

    It looks great.

  19. Jesse says:

Is It The Gallyer App or Gallery2.apk ? Because I Didn’y See Any Gallyer. Idk How To Even Run Titanium Like That To Be Honest Unless I’m Backing Up My Phone.

  20. corban says:

Great ROM and i Love every feature of it… i Just HATE the BATTERY LIFE!!! that kills

  21. Nathan Murguia says:

Why doesn’t EPST work with this ROM?

  22. Steven says:

so i flashed the rom, rebooted the device and now it just keeps restarting on its own, wont even boot up

  23. Nick says:

I can’t seem to get this installed. I’m coming from Xylon, so I was able to do an AOKP already. I backed up everything, wiped cache, dalvik, and system (I’ve tried once, and twice back-to-back) and when I try to install the beanstalk zip I downloaded from this page, it just keeps telling me it’s a bad file. I’ve tried downloading multiple times, but every time it just says that it’s bad. Any ideas?

    • Nick says:

I’ve also tried having it on the sdcard in a folder, on the sdcard root, and on the phone root. On the phone’s root it couldn’t even find it, and on the sdcard it said it was a bad file.

    • David says:

I got the same thing, I restarted my PC and re-downloaded the file and it seemed to work fine afterwards.

      • Nick says:

Hmm thanks. I’ve downloaded it on my phone directly, and transferred from my tablet with no luck. Sadly, my laptop died recently, so I don’t have a PC to try it on right now.

        • Nick says:

Okay, got it working! When I was downloading on android, it would just get a tiny multi kb zip file. Only when I got it on my girlfriends laptop was it a full 200 something MB zip.

  24. David says:

I love this ROM, only a few bugs. Connecting to WiFi is sketchy, it doesn’t always want to connect to hotspots you have saved automatically. Also when using wired headsets the microphone does not work. But all in all a fantastic ROM, great customizations.

  25. Roman says:

I just flashed Beanstalk ROM to my HTC EVO LTE and am experiencing the same problem that Chad and Bono had above….in the boot loop. What do I need to do to get the loop to stop so I can get the phone into recovery

  26. Kevin says:

I’ve downloaded and rooted the phone, tried to place a different rom on the phone and now all I seem to get is the twrp load screen or the phone continues to power on and off. Not quiet sure what to do at this point, I havent been able to use my cellphone for 4 days now. I’ve tried flashing and reflashing yet the result is still the same. just attempting to get a little additional help.

  27. Tom says:

I have been trying to download the Beanstalk Rom for EVO 4G LTE from your links above but all I get are links to download WinZip, Conduit etc. Do you have links that work or am I doing something wrong??? Any help is appreciated.

  28. Prem says:

I just flashed this ROM, liking it alot. However, I cannot access the settings for any apps. The settings button does not appear in any of the apps I have downloaded. Anybody have any suggestions here?

  29. Robisok says:

I think I lost root access after flashing this ROM. Any suggestions on how to get root while on this ROM.

  30. Erfan says:
