How to Get Unlimited HTC Evo 4G Battery Life!

For those of you wondering 4G might drain your battery life too much, here’s a simple solution.

Get an extra HTC Evo 4G battery and battery charger.

Unlike iPhones, HTC Evo 4G allows users for easy replacement of battery on a daily basis.

Seidio Innocell 1750 mAh Slim Extended Life Battery will actually “extend” your HTC Evo 4G’s battery life, it’s much better battery than stock, get it for just $41 on Amazon.

Of course, don’t forget to get the Seidio Battery Charger($23.90) also, so you can start swapping batteries and use your HTC Evo 4G all the time, instead of waiting for it to charge.

Also, swapping your batteries when they are almost empty makes your batteries last almost 5 times longer.  Cellphones sold in South Korea ALL come with an extra battery plus battery charger, I don’t know why cellphone companies in the U.S. don’t do this.

When you re-charge your smartphone when it’s not completely drained, you are essentially causing battery memory.

i have the battery and am waiting for my replacement. i had to bring my phone to sprint and they said the only way they could test it is with the factory battery so i pulled out battery and as i was the out part of battery broke apart and the cells stayed inside the phone. they need to redesign this battery.

L-Ion batteries do NOT suffer from battery memory. Completely draining your L-Ion battery can lead to cell damage within the battery.

  6. The advice regarding draining the batteries is flat out wrong. Lithium ion cells do not like to be deep discharged. You are better off doing a partial discharge and recharge to maximize life. To maximize life, you should also store batteries at about 60% of full charge and in a cool environment.

All of this said, the basic premise: having a spare battery, is a good idea.

They do. Go to any Sprint store and you can get two batteries with a battery charger for $50.

These ‘best’ battery life from the Evo articles are awesome. They always make me laugh. At least this one says flat out to go get another battery. Some of the other ones out there just say to turn the phone in to airplane mode and not to use it and the battery will go all day!

    The bottom line is:

    1) The Evo has a huge screen, fast processor and a very underpowered battery.

    2) 3rd party manufacturers batteries work fine, but don’t expect a good product for the prices they sell them for. If you get lucky (I did – 2 3500mah batteries and external charger for $20 on ebay) and get good product, they are a steal. If you end up having to ship them back and forth due to poor quality, you’re better off getting a few standard ones at the Sprint store instead. Also something to keep in mind, cases and covers for the extended batteries are very limited – but the larger battery cover protects the camera much better than the stock one.

    3) HTC Hero/Touch Pro 2 batteries work fine in the EVO. They are much cheaper than finding HTC Evo batteries for some reason…

    4) Since the Hero/TP2 batteries work, you now know why the battery life is so short – same power supply, much bigger draw.

Hopefully we all will continue to enjoy our phones and laugh when we see articles trying to sell us a $100 accessory pack instead of just asking our local Sprint store for a deal.

Hey good people, I bought a 3500mah battery on eBay almost a year ago along with a 2600mah, and a 2800mah battery and they ALL work great! The 3500mah battery is now under $9 w/back cover, shipping, and handling. Get 2! Also, I recommend Bloat Freezer from the android market. You must never ‘freeze’ anything the android system needs, though. And don’t use task killers with android. (If you turn off something the operating system needs it will turn it back on only to have your killer turn it off and it will continue to cycle and run your battery down rapidly. Turn off bloatware and any thing you don’t ever use. Overclocking eats battery, also. Underclocking preserves power.
Decide how much speed you really need. If you can’t tell much difference, go with a lower cpu setting. I get 1-2 days usage, depending on camera flash, 4g, video recording, etc. Finally, the best battery saver is always you!
