I downloaded the OMJ rom recently and sprint just came out with a 3.30.651.3 update (the date is: 11/11/10) and everytime i begin the update it,ll begin for about a second and then it would show a screen with a little android and an exclamation, do youhave any idea how to resolve this while using this rom?

  2. buddy says:

Thanks for the update and thanks to OMJ
the only problem i’m having is that i use an AIRAVE and when i tether my signal on the phone goes from 5 bars down to 1 . It is like killing the connection to my rave unit

  7. DrStrangeLove says:

Im all bout rooting my phone. if the end result is not having to wipe my phone everytime a new Root is available.

my mail reason for using tethering is that i work on computers i need an internet connection that is always with me.

    i’ll be patient.

How do you get sprint apps back?

  10. JOE says:

Figured out the sprint apps by opening the supersonic zip, opening apps folder and copying sprint apps to sd card. The opening in file manager in phone.

  11. JOE says:

Anyone know how to get netflix of blockbuster app so i can rent movies on the evo.

  12. Wellington says:

  13. Juan Leal says:

So it says in the link that once you install the OMJ ROM you can get sprint firmware updates OTA without having to re-flash??? Is this correct?

  14. Solar says:

Thanks for the Rom. Works as advertised with one caveat. When I plug in an HDMI cable it freezes the phone. I have to pull out the battery and reboot. Got it from wireless4cheap on ebay. Anybody else have these issues. Could it be the ROM or the phone? Unfortunaly I did’t try the tv out function before i placed the rom on. Also it looks like OMJ’s newest Rom is out 1.4.
    Please advise.

  15. jason says:

There’s a good chance that the ‘palringo’ app that’s included in this rom will trip the security vices at facebook when you attempt to login to it. It’s not a big deal, just giving you a heads up =)

  16. ola says:

Unfortunately it doesn’t seem compatible with the Android Wifi Tether, why I had to revert back to

  17. Eric says:

The install went well but I also keep getting the message “Unable to start tethering. Please try again!” – Does anyone have any ideas why it doesn’t work?

Excuse my poor English. I received* the same message as Eric. Does* anyone know why there is an “Unable to start tethering. Please try again!”message?

  21. Chris says:

I found a solution Eric. When you have the wifi tether open, try going to Menu->Setup->Menu->Reinstall binaries/configs.

  22. Joe P says:

Does anyone know if I should except the sprint updates or not?

    • HTC Evo 4G Hacks says:

Not if you’ve rooted the phone, DONT! Just wait for someone to upload a custom ROM with the updates.

  23. Eric says:

Chris – I was really excited to hear you found a solution. So I hit Menu-> on the phone then Setup-> on the screen, then Menu-> on the phone again and thats when the Reinstall binaries/configs came up on the screen. Once you hit that, the tethering works great!!!!! Thanks Chris, you just saved me a lot of headaches!

  27. Checho says:

If you have problems with the wifi tether all you have to do is delete the app, then go to the android market look for it, download it and it should work now, well it did at least for me 🙂
