I swore to myself last week that I would never go back to a Sense-based ROM but after trying the latest version of Mean ROM, I am convinced there’s still hope. The Mean ICS ROM is very stock-like yet gives you a performance boost over the stock ROM that you will actually notice.

This is a very lightweight (350MB) ROM that has much of unnecessary Sense bloatware while adding some cool mods like hacked Hotspot app and HQ (High Quality) camera mod. Well, the long wait is finally over, you can try codefireX CM10 Jelly Bean ROM based off CM10 Android 4.1.1.

For those of you who want a faster Evo 4G LTE over stock with better battery life, you might want to give the freshEVO ROM a try. Although almost one month since last version update, in my opinion this is one of the fastest ROMs for your HTC Evo 4G LTE (with Sense still in-tact). I really like how everything runs much faster than any other ROM I’ve tried so far. Best of all, battery life is pretty good too.

Sometimes, having less updates might mean a good thing, the developer has stopped fixing bugs most likely.
